About the show

A Lebanese podcast about the inner life.

Inner Narratives is recorded in Beirut and hosted by Nadz. We sit with one person at a time and talk about the part of their life that does not appear in a biography. There are 15 conversations so far.

Lebanese life produces a particular kind of person: capable, adaptable, quietly exhausted, and practised at saying they are fine. We are interested in what sits underneath that. Migration and distance. Family expectation. The pressure of being the dependable one. Ambition in a country that keeps interrupting plans.

The format is deliberately slow. No panel, no debate, no advice segment. One conversation, unhurried, with room for the pauses where people usually decide whether to tell the truth.

What we talk about

Common questions

What is Inner Narratives?

A long-form interview podcast hosted by Nadz and recorded in Beirut. Each episode is a single conversation with one person about something they usually do not say out loud: pressure, grief, ambition, migration, or the gap between how their life looks and how it feels.

Is the podcast in Arabic or English?

The conversations are in English, with the occasional Arabic phrase where English does not have the right word. Guests are mostly Lebanese, at home and abroad.

Where can I listen?

On Spotify and YouTube for full episodes, and on Instagram for clips. There is no Apple Podcasts feed at the moment.

How long is an episode?

Typically thirty to fifty minutes. We do not pad conversations to hit a length, and we do not cut them short when a guest is still thinking.

Who are the guests?

Doctors, founders, coaches, lawyers, pharmacists, musicians and organisers. What they have in common is not a profession but a willingness to describe their experience accurately rather than impressively.
