What we keep returning to.
Six themes run through every conversation we record: identity and belonging, diaspora and migration, emotional pressure, ambition and purpose, culture and adaptation, and reflection and growth. Each one has its own page, with the episodes that belong to it.
They are six because these are the subjects guests keep returning to, whatever they do for a living. We did not choose them first and then look for guests. We listened to the conversations and named what kept coming up.
Most episodes touch more than one theme. A conversation about leaving Lebanon is often also about pressure, and a conversation about ambition is often also about who you are. Each episode is tagged to every theme it really covers, so it can appear on more than one page.
If you are not sure where to begin, pick the theme closest to what you are carrying right now. Or read more about the show on the Lebanese podcast page.
Identity and belonging
Who you are was assembled early, mostly by other people, and rarely revisited since.

Emotional pressure
Pressure rarely announces itself. It accumulates, and then it presents as something else.
6 episodes
Ambition and purpose
Ambition is easy to admire from outside and difficult to live inside.

Culture and adaptation
Culture decides what feels obvious before you have had a chance to consider it.

Reflection and growth
Growth here is not a plan. It is noticing a pattern and choosing differently once.
