What we talk about

Identity and belonging

Most of us carry an idea of who we are that was assembled early, often by other people, and rarely revisited. These conversations look at how that idea forms, where it stops fitting, and what it costs to keep performing a version of yourself you have outgrown. Belonging turns out to be less about place than about being recognised.

Diaspora experience

Leaving is only the first decision; everything after it is negotiation. Guests talk about living between two countries, two languages and two sets of expectations, and about the quiet arithmetic of what you keep and what you let go. For many Lebanese listeners, this is the thread that runs through every other theme.

Emotional pressure

Pressure rarely announces itself. It accumulates through responsibility, long hours, family expectation and the habit of being the dependable one. We sit with the versions people do not perform at work — the exhaustion, the doubt, and the difficulty of admitting either when others are relying on you.

Ambition and purpose

Ambition is easy to admire and hard to live inside. These episodes examine what drives people to build, and what that building takes from the rest of their lives. We also ask the less comfortable question: whose ambition is it, and what happens when the goal arrives and changes nothing.

Culture and adaptation

Culture shapes what feels obvious — how you talk about feelings, what counts as success, who you owe. Adaptation means learning a second set of instincts without discarding the first. Guests describe the daily translation work of moving between cultural worlds, and where that translation breaks down.

Reflection and growth

Growth here is not a plan or a formula. It is the slower work of noticing patterns, naming them without judgment, and choosing differently once. Every conversation is built to leave you with a better question rather than a resolution, because the questions are what actually change people.
